സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് വീണ്ടും അമീബിക് മസ്തിഷ്ക ജ്വരം ബാധിച്ച് മരണം; രോഗം കിണർ വെള്ളത്തിൽ നിന്നെന്ന് സംശയം

കോഴിക്കോട്: സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് അമീബിക് മസ്തിഷ്ക ജ്വരം ബാധിച്ച് ഒരാൾകൂടി മരിച്ചു. ചികിത്സയിലായിരുന്ന കോഴിക്കോട് നടേരി സ്വദേശി ബിജുവാണ് മരിച്ചത്. ഇക്കഴിഞ്ഞ ബുധനാഴ്ച മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജിൽ നടത്തിയ പരിശോധനയിലാണ് ബിജുവിന് രോഗം സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചത്. മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജിലെ തീവ്രപരിചരണ വിഭാഗത്തിൽ ചികിത്സയിലിരിക്കെയാണ് മരണം സംഭവിച്ചത്.
ബിജുവിന്റെ രോഗ ഉറവിടം കണ്ടെത്താനായിട്ടില്ല. ഇയാൾ ജലാശയത്തിൽ കുളിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. അതിനാൽ കിണർ വെള്ലത്തിൽ നിന്ന് രോഗം പിടിപെട്ടെന്നാണ് ആരോഗ്യവകുപ്പിന്റെ നിഗമനം. ഈ കിണറിലെ വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ സാമ്പിൾ പരിശോധനയ്ക്ക് അയച്ചതായി ആരോഗ്യവകുപ്പ് അറിയിച്ചു. പ്രദേശത്ത് ക്ലോറിനേഷൻ ഉൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള നടപടികൾ ആരോഗ്യവകുപ്പ് പൂർത്തിയാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഓട്ടോറിക്ഷാ ഡ്രൈവറായിരുന്നു മരിച്ച ബിജു.
