മുംബൈ ∙ ഉച്ചഭാഷിണി ഉപയോഗം മതവിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ അനിവാര്യ ഘടകമല്ലെന്നു ബോംബെ ഹൈക്കോടതി വ്യക്തമാക്കി. ഉച്ചഭാഷിണിയുടെ ഉപയോഗം തടയുന്നത് ഭരണഘടനാ അവകാശ ലംഘനമല്ലെന്നു പറഞ്ഞ കോടതി ശബ്ദ നിയന്ത്രണത്തിനു സംവിധാനങ്ങൾ ഏർപ്പെടുത്താൻ മതസ്ഥാപനങ്ങളോടു നിർദേശിക്കണമെന്ന് സർക്കാരിനോട് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു. 

പള്ളികളിൽ നിന്ന് ശബ്ദമലിനീകരണമുണ്ടാകുന്നായി ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടി കുർളയിലെ 2 ഹൗസിങ് സൊസൈറ്റികളിലെ താമസക്കാരുടെ പരാതിയിൽ പൊലീസ് നടപടി സ്വീകരിക്കാതെ വന്നതോടെയാണ് കോടതിയെ സമീപിച്ചത്. സാധാരണക്കാരാണ് ശബ്ദ മലിനീകരണത്തിന്റെ ഇരകൾ എന്നും കോടതി പറഞ്ഞു.
