ബെംഗളൂരു ∙ കർണാടകയിലെ ബീദറിൽ ഇതരജാതിക്കാരിയായ പെൺകുട്ടിയെ പ്രണയിച്ചതിനു ദലിത് വിഭാഗത്തിൽപെട്ട കോളജ് വിദ്യാർഥിയെ തല്ലിക്കൊന്നു. കമലനഗറിലെ കോളജിലെ ബിരുദ വിദ്യാർഥിയായ സുമിത്ത് (19) ആണ് കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടത്. പെൺകുട്ടിയുടെ സഹോദരൻ രാഹുലിനെയും അച്ഛൻ കൃഷ്ണറാവുവിനെയും പൊലീസ് അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തു. 

പെൺകുട്ടിയും സുമിത്തുമായി ഏറെ കാലമായി അടുപ്പത്തിലായിരുന്നു. കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം പെൺകുട്ടി മാത്രമുള്ള സമയത്ത് വീട്ടിലെത്തിയതായി ആരോപിച്ച് പ്രതികൾ സുമിത്തിനെ ക്രൂരമായി മർദിച്ചു. ശേഷം ഗ്രാമത്തിനു പുറത്ത് ആളൊഴിഞ്ഞ സ്ഥലത്ത് ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. 

മണിക്കൂറുകളോളം നീണ്ട തിരച്ചിലിനൊടുവിൽ സുമിത്തിനെ കണ്ടെത്തിയ നാട്ടുകാർ ഉടൻ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ എത്തിച്ചെങ്കിലും ജീവൻ രക്ഷിക്കാനായില്ല. സംഭവത്തിൽ ദലിത് സംഘടനകൾ പ്രതിഷേധിച്ചു.
