ന്യൂഡൽഹി ∙ മാലദ്വീപിന്റെ അഭ്യർഥന പ്രകാരം പ്രതിരോധ സാമഗ്രികൾ കൈമാറിയതായി പ്രതിരോധമന്ത്രാലയം അറിയിച്ചു. മാലദ്വീപ് പ്രതിരോധ മന്ത്രി മുഹമ്മദ് ഗസാൻ മൗമൂനും ഇന്ത്യൻ പ്രതിരോധമന്ത്രി രാജ്നാഥ് സിങ്ങും ഇന്നലെ നടത്തിയ കൂടിക്കാഴ്ചയിലാണ് സഹകരണം ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്താൻ ധാരണയായത്. 

സാമ്പത്തികരംഗത്തും കടൽസുരക്ഷയിലും സമഗ്രമായ പങ്കാളിത്തത്തിലേർപ്പെടാൻ ഇരുരാജ്യങ്ങളും തീരുമാനിച്ചു. കഴിഞ്ഞ വർഷം ഇടഞ്ഞുനിന്ന ഇരുരാജ്യങ്ങളും കൂടുതൽ അടുക്കുന്നതിന്റെ സൂചനയായിരുന്നു ഇന്നലത്തെ കൂടിക്കാഴ്ച. 

തുടക്കത്തിൽ ചൈന അനുകൂല നിലപാടു സ്വീകരിച്ച മാലദ്വീപ് പ്രസിഡന്റ് മുഹമ്മദ് മുയ്സു ചുമതലയേറ്റ ശേഷം ആദ്യമായാണ് പ്രതിരോധ മന്ത്രി ഇന്ത്യ സന്ദർശിക്കുന്നത്.
