ന്യൂഡൽഹി ∙ രാജ്യത്തെ അങ്കണവാടികളിൽ 5 വയസ്സിനു താഴെയുള്ള പകുതിയിലേറെ പേർക്കും വളർച്ചാമുരടിപ്പും ഭാരക്കുറവുമുള്ളതായി കേന്ദ്ര വനിതാ –ശിശു വികസന മന്ത്രാലയം. ഈ കുട്ടികളിൽ 38.9% പേർ വളർച്ച മുരടിപ്പു നേരിടുമ്പോൾ 17% പേർക്കു ഭാരക്കുറവുണ്ട്. പോഷകാഹാരക്കുറവാണ് പ്രധാന കാരണം. 6 വയസ്സിനു താഴെയുള്ള കുട്ടികളിലെ പോഷകാഹാര കുറവ് പ്രതിവർഷം 2% വീതം കുറയ്ക്കാൻ കേന്ദ്രം നടപടിയെടുക്കുന്നുണ്ടെന്നും മന്ത്രാലയം അറിയിച്ചു. ഇതിനായി അങ്കണവാടികൾ കേന്ദ്രീകരിച്ച് തുടങ്ങിയ പദ്ധതികൾ പുരോഗമിക്കുന്നു.
